Autronic presents the new generation of USB-charger for use in railway and applica- tions for rough use. In a compact and easy-to-maintain design, the brand-new DC/DC converter with USB interface will be available from mid Q1/2022. The integrated com- munication interface guarantees, independent of the brand of the phone, the safe charging of the devices with highest performance according to USB-BC 1.2.
Areas of application are locomotive cabs, passenger compartments, as well as mo- bile environments such as excavators and other heavy-duty vehicles.
The DC/DC chargers have an input voltage range of 14.4 V to 154 V and supply each of both outputs up to 5 V with 2 A, without any derating. Two devices can be charged simultaneously. A hold up time of 10 ms (S1) is integrated.
The IP20 converter is short-circuit protected and operates in the temperature range of class OT4, ST1+2 (-40...+85 °C). The device has been developed according to EN50155 and EN 50121-3-2, shock/vibration according to EN 61373 (category B, class 1) and fire protected according to EN45545-2 with highest classification (HL3).
To keep the integration in customers applications variable, there is the possibility to purchase the converter without USB interface, but with a Phoenix connector. The installation can be simplified by a plug solution on the customer side. The USB20- W/G is maintenance-free, but can be easily repaired, e. g. in case of vandalism. It is sufficient to loosen only two screws and replace the front panel.
Customization of the case or design can be made according to customer require- ments. The charger is available from Q01/2022.
