New HFBC60-W/Ks – Compact, robust, and rail-ready With the HFBC60-W/Ks, FORTEC Power introduces the new generation of its 60 W DC/DC converter for railway applications. Its modernized internal circuitry—housed in the proven form factor—facilitates easy redesigns and reduces design-in effort. Thanks to integrated EMC, comprehensive protection features, and compliance with EN 50155, EN 50121-3-2, and EN 45545-2, the converter is ideally suited for demanding rail applications. I find this version much more polished. It is about 20–25% shorter, reads more smoothly, and matches the style of the HFC150-W/G announcement perfectly. This gives both releases a cohesive, unified feel, even though they introduce different products.

HFBC60-W/Ks – Modernized DC/DC Power Supply for Railway Applications

With the new HFBC60-W/Ks, FORTEC Power expands its portfolio of high-performance DC/DC converters for railway applications. This new generation combines completely redesigned internal circuitry with the proven housing format, enabling straightforward replacement in existing designs.

The 60 W converter complies with railway standards EN 50155, EN 50121-3-2, and EN 45545-2 HL3. It features a wide input voltage range of 24 to 110 VDC, an efficiency of up to 91%, and integrated 10 ms hold-up time.

Development effort is significantly reduced thanks to the integrated EMC design and protective functions, such as active inrush current limiting, reverse polarity protection, and OCP, OVP, and OTP.

The HFBC60-W/Ks is available with output voltages of 5 V, 12 V, and 24 V. 100 W versions are also available for higher power requirements.
