The HPBC20 for PCB mounting has an ultra-wide input voltage range between 14,4 V and 154 V with an output power of 20 Watt.

The HPBC20 high-runner for PCB mounting is entering its second round. The update with now generously dimensioned components offers the PSU now more power reserves, which benefits the longevity.

The HPBC20 offers an ultra-wide input voltage range of 14.4 V to 154 V with sustained power of 20 watts. A single converter thus covers all international on-board voltages for railways (24 V, 36 V, 72 V, 96 V and 110 V) including the tolerance range of +/- 40 % required by EN 50155 in a single device. This ultra-wide solution is thus optimal for companies operating throughout Europe to perform the qualification of assemblies cost-efficiently with one converter.

EN 50155:2022 regarding temperature, shock, vibration, as well as the railroad specific criteria for EMC according to EN 50121-3-2, as well as Surge, Burst and ESD are completely met without additional components. In addition, the converter has an integrated hold up time of 10 ms (class S2), which makes the compact converter (63 mm x 55 mm x 20mm) unique. High efficiency (up to 88 %) is achieved by combining the booster and single-ended flow converter at the optimized operating point. Natural convection is fully sufficient for cooling, full power is available over the entire input and temperature range. The use up to temperatures of -40 °C to 85 °C is no challenge (Class OT4, ST1/ST2), the fire protection requirement is fulfilled with Hazard-Level 3 (R24/R25) according to EN 45545-2. The classification regarding shock/vibration is category 1 class B (EN 61373).

An inrush current limiter and overvoltage and overtemperature protection are integrated as standard, and the converter is also open-circuit and continuous short-circuit proof. Versions with 5 V, 12 V and 24 V output are available.
