So one single device suits for all international on-board power supply voltages of rail vehicles (24 V, 36 V, 72 V and 110 V) including the +/- 40 % tolerance required according to EN 50155.
Consequently, this ultra-wide solution is very interesting for companies with Europe-wide activities, since one converter is sufficient for the qualification of modules.
It complies with EN 50155 regarding temperature, shock, vibration, as well as the railway specific criteria for EMC, surge, burst and ESD without additional components. Moreover, the Railway converter has an integrated hold-up time of 10 ms (Class S2) that makes this converter unique in this power range. A high degree of efficiency is achieved by the combination of booster and single forward converter at the optimized operating point (approx. 88 %). The PCB of the converter is approved according the EN 45545-2, R25.
Features are inrush current limitation, over temperature protection, over voltage protection as well as a short-circuit protection.
Beside the version with output 5 V or 12 V, also a version with 24 V single output voltage is available.
