A single converter thus covers all international on-board voltages for railway (24 V, 36 V, 72 V, 96 V and 110 V) including the tolerance range of +/- 40 % required by EN 50155 in one device.
In addition, the new device can also be used for 12 V applications, such as in buses, to drive applications such as switches, repeaters, displays and other infotainment equipment. This makes the new AUTRONIC solution ideal for companies operating throughout Europe to carry out the qualification of modules cost-effectively with one converter.
The EN 50155 regarding temperature, shock, vibration, as well as the railway-specific criteria for EMC according to EN50121-3-2, as well as surge, burst and ESD are completely complied with without additional components. In addition, the converter has an integrated hold up time of 10 ms (Class OT4/ST1 and 2), which makes the compact converter (55.2 mm x 54 mm x 25 mm) unique. The absolute highlight is that the pinning was chosen according to the common ¼ brick, an application in existing designs is possible and further filtering is usually not necessary. The effi-ciency is up to an impressive 84% and no cooling, except natural convection, is necessary.
Low inrush current, overvoltage and overtemperature protection are integrated as standard, and the converter is also no-load and permanently short-circuit-proof. Fire protection according to EN 45545-2 (HL3) is guaranteed.
In addition to the variants with 12 V and 15 V output, variants with 5 V and 24 V are planned. Further outputs are available on request.
